Israel exports actors for commercials

Israelis are exporting, but this time it’s actors.

Actress Bruria Albeck’s agency sends between 15 and 30 actors a month to Turkey, Russia and Eastern Europe to appear in commercials.

The Israelis have an easy time finding work in these countries due to a local dearth of actors and overworking of larger celebrities. It's a void the Israelis have no problem filling.

"There's another market for all the actors who are overexposed here," Albeck says. "Someone whom people here don't like to see anymore can work elsewhere. We don't export only high-tech."
