Israeli wounded in Palestinian mortar barrage

Palestinian terrorists operating out of the Gaza Strip fired a barrage of mortar shells at the southern Israel community of Nir Oz on Wednesday wounding one Israeli and causing moderate damage.

Nir Oz was the site of a deadly Palestinian mortar attack last week that left a 51-year-old factory worker dead.

Wednesday's attack came as Israel's security cabinet was debating whether to authorize strong military action against Gaza's terrorist infrastructure, or to accept the terms of an Egyptian-brokered ceasefire.

Residents of southern Israel and many military experts insist the government must approve crushing military action in order to curb the rocket threat, and warn that agreeing to a ceasefire will only allow Hamas and other terror groups embedded in Gaza to regroup and rearm for future assaults on Israel.
