Massive Palestinian rocket barrage wounds one Israeli

An Israeli woman suffered moderate injuries on Thursday when Palestinian forces operating out of the northern Gaza Strip fired some 65 rockets and mortar shells at communities in southern Israel.

The Israeli victim was wounded when one of the rockets slammed into the medical center of a small Israeli community. Widespread damage was reported as a result of the Palestinian barrage.

Earlier in the day, three Palestinian Arabs were killed and another 40 were wounded when a large explosion at a local bomb maker's house rocked the northern Gaza town of Beit Lahiya. Hamas initially blamed the explosion on an Israeli air strike, but the Israeli army denied that it was involved. Hamas later launched an investigation into the incident, signaling that it knew Israel was not behind the blast.
