Ella Abukasis, the 17-year-old who was wounded in a Qassam attack on Sderot while attempting to protect her younger brother, died of her injuries Friday morning. She was in critical condition in Soroka Medical Center in Beersheba since suffering severe head wounds from shrapnel and doctors had pronounced her clinically dead on Tuesday. Abukasis was laid to rest on Friday.
