Israel is reopening the Rafah border crossing between Gaza and Egypt in one direction Friday, enabling Palestinians to enter Gaza from Egypt but not to leave. The border crossing had been closed since mid-December, when it was damaged in a terror attack on a nearby army outpost that killed five soldiers. The closure has left thousands of Palestinians stranded on the other side. The Gush Katif junction in Gaza was reopened by the IDF on Thursday, but only until 3 PM. The junction had been closed following a suicide terror attack that killed a Shin Bet security officer and injured eight other security troops.
