Both Hamas and Islamic Jihad denied they agreed to a truce but confirmed that they have accepted a 30-day “test period of calm.” If Israel suspends military action during that period, the groups would also halt attacks and prepare for a formal cease-fire. "There will be no calm without a price and calm will not be accepted unless there is a clear commitment from the occupation to stop all sorts of aggression," said Hamas spokesman Sami Abu Zuhri in Gaza.
