Historic session at the U.N.

Tuesday, January 25, 2005 |

The U.N. parted from its traditionally anti-Israel agenda, and held an incredible, historic session on the Holocaust for the first time. More than 150 nations, including Islamic countries, agreed to the session, marking the 60th anniversary of the liberation of the Auschwitz death camp. "We know that for the dead it is too late. For them, abandoned by God and betrayed by humanity, victory did come much too late," said Holocaust survivor and Nobel Prize winning author Elie Wiesel, a death camp survivor, adding that such atrocities must never happen again. "But it is not too late for today's children, ours and yours. It is for their sake alone that we bear witness."
