Dire warning on Iranian nukes

Tuesday, January 25, 2005 |

The head of Israel's Mossad intelligence agency, Meir Dagan, says Iran will have the technical ability to enrich uranium by the end of this year. Speaking to the Knesset (parliament) Foreign Affairs and Defense Committee, Dagan said from that point, it would only take a year or two for Iran to develop a nuclear bomb. That's a cause of deep concern here in Jerusalem because Iran has made no secret of seeking the destruction of Israel. “This is a global threat, not just to Israel, not even just to the Middle East, but to the entire free world,” said parliamentarian Yuval Steinitz.
