Israel has hinted that it might attack Iran's nuclear facilities if the world fails to act. There is a precedent--the Israeli air force destroyed the Iraqi nuclear reactor in 1981. As US Vice President Dick Cheney put it last week: Israel could carry out a pre-emptive strike and "let the rest of the world worry about cleaning up the diplomatic mess afterward."
