P.A. controls most of Gaza

Palestinian security forces have already deployed in most of the Gaza Strip, with the aim of preventing rocket and mortar attacks on Jewish settlements. Palestinian troops moved into northern Gaza last week, and today they began deploying at the southern end of the Strip. But when the Palestinians moved in this morning, they got a hot reception from Jewish settlers, who slashed two tires on their vehicles. Israeli police intervened and dispersed the settlers.
