Gaza rocket wounds Israeli

Monday, September 15, 2008 |  Israel Today Staff

Palestinian forces operating out of the Gaza Strip fired a rocket at the southern Israel town of Sderot on Sunday, the first such attack in over two weeks.

The rocket landed in an open area in the town, but started a fire and lightly wounded one resident.

Gaza's Hamas rulers agreed to an unofficial ceasefire with Israel earlier this summer, but have since violated the truce at least a dozen times.

Israeli defense officials also fear the Gaza-based terrorists are using the lull in the fighting to significantly boost their firepower in anticipation of another round of violence against the Jewish state.
