Israeli soldier blinded after Palestinian woman throws acid in his eyes

A young Israeli soldier is expected to lose sight in one of his eyes after a Palestinian Arab woman pretending to be in need of humanitarian assistance threw acid in his face after arriving at a checkpoint outside the "West Bank" town of Nablus.

The woman exploited Israel's provision of a humanitarian assistance lane for those in need of urgent medical care at the checkpoint to get close to the soldier without going through a more thorough security check.

The woman was behind a similar attack earlier in the month, but managed to escape back into Nablus. She was successfully captured after Monday's attack.

Palestinian terrorists have made a practice of exploiting Israeli humanitarian gestures and measures to carry out attacks against unsuspecting Jews.

The tactic is a win-win situation for the Palestinians, since Israel is usually hit with international condemnation when it halts the humanitarian measures in response to the increased terror.
