50,000 Israelis turn out to hear Paul McCartney

He may be getting on in years, but the 50,000 Israelis who turned out to hear 66-year-old legendary music icon Paul McCartney perform in Tel Aviv on Thursday said he is as electric as ever.

Performing at an outdoor venue at Yarkon Park in the heart of Tel Aviv, the former Beatle gave the audience exactly what they wanted as he played through a generous selection of the band's past hits.

McCartney also greatly pleased the crowd by using poorly-pronounced Hebrew to introduce several of his songs.

Tickets for the show were expensive, ranging from $140 for spots on the lawn to over $1500 for VIP bleacher seats. Most didn't care. They viewed McCartney's performance as a once-in-a-lifetime experience, and gladly shelled out hundreds and even thousands of dollars to take the entire family.
