Israeli jets scrambled to Lebanon border

Friday, October 10, 2008 |  Israel Today Staff

Israeli fighter jets and an attack helicopter were scrambled to the northern border during Yom Kippur after an unidentified aircraft was spotted approaching from Lebanon.

The Lebanese aircraft quickly turned around, and the Israeli planes and chopper returned to base after conducting a search of the area to make sure an infiltration had not occurred.

Israeli forces remain on high alert amid intelligence suggesting Lebanon's Hizballah terrorist militia will try to attack the Jewish state during the High Holy Days season.
