De-facto cease-fire solidifies

The Israeli army chief of staff has ordered troops to halt operations in parts of the Gaza Strip where Palestinian police have deployed. The order applies to most of the heavily populated areas of Gaza. The army chief, Lieutenant-General Shaul Ya'alon, also ordered troops to scale back operations in Judea and Samaria. Israel is expected to pull out of four towns in Judea and Samaria in the near future.
