US Democratic presidential hopeful Barack Obama has been endorsed by Middle East terrorist entities and enablers from Hamas to Hizballah to Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad.
Now Republican candidate John McCain has scored his own terrorist endorsement from none other than the current superstar of international Islamic terrorism: Al Qaeda.
The Associated Press reported that messages posted on a password-protected Al Qaeda website this week spoke positively of a McCain victory because the group feels that the Republican is more likely to expend America's military and financial might in an ultimately doomed war on terror.
To help encourage Americans to vote for McCain, the website suggests a major terrorist attack against US interests prior to the election.
"This act will support McCain because it will push the Americans deliberately to vote for McCain so that he takes revenge for them against Al Qaeda. Al Qaeda then will succeed in exhausting America till its last year in it," read one posting.
The remarks appeared on the al-Hesbah website and were translated by SITE Intelligence Group.
In related news, Hamas has followed up its endorsement of Obama by propping up his running mate, Senator Joe Biden.
In an interview with ABC News this week, Hamas spokesman Ahmed Yousef referred to Biden as "a great man," and reaffirmed that the Palestinian terror group is rooting for an Obama victory next month.
Biden previously made much of his purported "Zionism." Endorsement by a group wholly dedicated to the Jewish state's demise has for many called into question the level of Biden's Zionism.
