Overcast, with a storm expected later this week. Pease pray for heavy rain during the crucial month of February, to fill up all the depleted aquifers and reservoirs. The other “rainy” months, December and January, were a great disappointment and very dry. The Sea of Galilee, Israel’s biggest reservoir, has risen by only 15 cm. (6 inches) since the beginning of the winter and is nearly 2 meters (6.5 feet) below capacity. But heavy rains in February, followed by plentiful “latter rains” in March, could still make up the deficit. Highs for today: Jerusalem: 66F (19C); Tel Aviv: 66F (19C); Eilat: 77F (25C).
