A Palestinian man shot and moderately wounded an Israeli who came to shop in an Arab village in Samaria on Monday.
Two Palestinian men stopped the Israeli as he entered the village of al-Funduk and demanded that he surrender his car. When the Israeli resisted, one of the Palestinians shot in the chest.
In other violence, Palestinian forces operating out of the Gaza Strip fired eight rockets into southern Israel on Monday morning, damaging several houses but failing to injure anyone.
Late Sunday evening another rocket slammed into the backyard of a home in the battered southern Israel town of Sderot, moderately wounding one person and sending at least two others into shock.
Despite the ongoing rocket fire, Israel on Monday lifted its total blockade of Gaza to allow truckloads of humanitarian aid to enter the Hamas-ruled territory. Israel will maintain its embargo on industrial fuel and non-essential goods.
