Muslim growth rate declining in Israel

Israel's Central Bureau of Statistics revealed in its annual report on Monday that at the start of 2008 there were 1.16 million Arabs living in the Jewish state, and that the community's growth rate had continued its steady decline.

While Israel's leaders wail about a demographic threat that necessitates their surrender of territory, the Muslim community's growth rate dipped to just 2.8 percent in 2007, down from 3.8 percent in 2000.
