Palestinian terrorists operating out of the Gaza Strip fired 11 rockets at the southern Israel port city of Ashkelon on Wednesday morning.
At least two of the rockets landed in Ashkelon's southern industrial zone, home to several chemical storage facilities and one of Israel's largest electrical power plants. There was minor damage and three local workers were treated for shock.
Another rocket landed in the nearby agricultural community of Yad Mordechai, causing no injuries or damage.
Israeli leaders continue to state publicly that a tenuous ceasefire with Hamas-ruled Gaza remains in place, even though Gaza-based terrorists have fired nearly 250 rockets and mortar shells into southern Israel over the past week.
This week's attacks brought to over 10,000 the number of rockets fired from Gaza since the last Palestinian terrorist uprising started eight years ago.
