Besieged Israeli hospital treats injured Gaza Arabs

Monday, December 29, 2008 |  Israel Today Staff

Barzilai Hospital in the southern Israel coastal city of Ashkelon on Sunday admitted dozens of Palestinian Arabs wounded in Israel's aerial bombardment of nearby Gaza.

Ironically, many of the Gaza patients must be treated under emergency circumstances as Ashkelon continues to come under Palestinian rocket fire.

Doctors at Barzilai said that regardless of the situation and of the fact that their patients come from a territory effectively at war with Israel, they have an obligation to treat whoever needs to be treated.
