Monday, December 29, 2008 |  Israel Today Staff

A Palestinian Arab man stabbed four Israelis on Monday morning in the Samarian Jewish community of Kiryat Sefer adjacent to the town of Modiin and just 20 minutes north of Jerusalem.

Initial reports indicated that the attacker first stabbed three Israelis while they were on their way to morning prayers at the local synagogue. He then ambushed and seriously wounded a paramedic who arrived on the scene.

A second paramedic arrived shortly after and shot the terrorist, leaving him badly wounded.

No further details were released, but security forces have been on heightened alert amid tensions related to the Israeli assault on Gaza.
