A man described by Israel's Foreign Ministry as a Palestinian Arab or a sympathizer with the Palestinian cause shot and wounded two young Israelis at a large mall in Denmark on Wednesday.
The attack took place at the Rosengirdscentret Center in the city of Odense during a pre-New Year's Day shopping rush.
The assailant reportedly approached the two Israelis, who were manning a kiosk selling Dead Sea hair care products, shouted something in Arabic and opened fire.
One of the victims was shot in the arm and the other in the leg. Both were listed in moderate condition. The attacker managed to escape in a waiting vehicle, and is believed to have had at least one or two accomplices.
The Israelis had complained about being harassed by a group of hostile youth in previous days. That harassment and Wednesday's attack are believed to be connected to Israel's assault on the Gaza terrorist infrastructure.
Earlier this week, leading Saudi and Iranian religious figures called on Muslims everywhere in the world to attack anyone and anything with an link to Israel.
