Israel to release 900 terrorists

Israel has decided to release 900 Palestinian prisoners, including 500 ahead of next week's summit in Egypt. The security Cabinet also decided that troops will withdraw from the Biblical town of Jericho in the coming days. If it's quiet, Israeli forces will gradually pull out of four more towns in Judea and Samaria. Cabinet ministers said the moves are a goodwill gesture ahead of the Israeli-Palestinian summit in Egypt next Tuesday. "We are not talking about peace now, and not about the ‘roadmap’ [peace plan], but rather about phases that come before implementation of the roadmap," Prime Minister Ariel Sharon said at the meeting.
