Monday, January 26, 2009 |  Israel Today Staff

Five Iranian parliament members will visit the Gaza Strip soon to congratulate Hamas on what they called the terror group's valiant resistance against Israel's recent offensive.

The lawmakers will also tour Gaza to assess the extent of the damage caused by Israeli aerial and artillery bombardments of positions occupied by Hamas forces.

Iranian media reported that the foreign ministry in Tehran is working to expedite visas for the five lawmakers to enter Gaza via Egypt.
