A poll conducted this week revealed that the overwhelming majority of Israeli Arabs want their children to remain in the Jewish state, further debunking the myth that Arab citizens of Israel suffer from severe discrimination and persecution.
The survey is conducted yearly by Midgam Consulting for use at an annual policy strategy conference, and focuses on the level of patriotism among Israel's Jewish and Arab citizens.
With the Gaza war only recently ended, the numbers were somewhat skewed, though as expected the vast majority of Jewish respondents expressed strong patriotic feelings toward their country, while less than half of Arab respondents said they felt the same.
However, 81 percent of Arab respondents said they would encourage their children to remain in Israel, rather than seek residence in another Arab country or in the West (as many have done in the past).
That number was up from just 56 percent last year.
