While the Gaza war and the Israeli elections have stolen the spotlight, police continue to investigate Prime Minister Ehud Olmert and are inching every closer to an indictment.
A police source familiar with the various corruption investigations against Olmert told Ha'aretz that the authorities have gathered substantial evidence against the prime minister.
The source said that Olmert has been unable to refute most of the charges made during his numerous sessions with police interrogators.
Olmert is expected to be questioned several more times, almost guaranteeing that he will not be officially charged while in office.
