Israel complains to UN over Lebanon rocket fire

Tuesday, February 24, 2009 |  Israel Today Staff

Israel on Tuesday filed an official complaint with the United Nations after three Israelis were wounded at the weekend when a missile fired from Lebanon hit a house near the Israeli coastal town of Nahariya.

A second missile was fired, but landed inside Lebanese territory.

No group has taken credit for the attack, but the Israeli complaint insisted that does not matter, since the Lebanese government is ultimately responsible for acts of aggression emanating from its territory.

Israel also took the UN itself to task for failing to effectively use its 10,000-man force on the ground in southern Lebanon to prevent such attacks.
