Israel rounds up Hamas leaders

Israeli forces on Wednesday night arrested 10 top Hamas officials during operations in Judea and Samaria.

Among the suspects are three Hamas members of the Palestinian parliament.

A statement released by the Israeli army noted that the men were all involved in recent efforts to strengthen the terror group's presence in Judea and Samaria.

Israeli media speculated that the timing of the arrests could also indicate an attempt to pressure Hamas to be more flexible on a prisoner exchange deal for abducted soldier Gilad Shalit.
