Israel on Tuesday conducted another successful test of its anti-ballistic missile defense system, and made plans to launch its largest-ever home front war drill.
In its 18th simulation, Israel's Arrow 2 defense system succeeded in downing a projectile simulating an Iranian Shihab 3 ballistic missile. It was the first test that utilized the entire Arrow 2 system, including the radar and interceptor.
The success of the test indicated that the Arrow 2 is all but ready to defend the nation against external missile threats.
At the same time, Israel's Home Front Command announced plans to hold the largest ever war drill in Israel in about two months.
Army officials said that if Israel is attacked by long-range missiles, the Home Front Command and other emergency response organizations will not have the personnel or equipment to fully handle the situation.
