A 49-man Hizballah cell captured in Egypt last week planned to carry out simultaneous attacks on three Red Sea resort towns frequented by Israelis during the Passover holiday, leading Egyptian newspaper Al-Ahram reported on Tuesday.

The attacks were to take place in the Sinai towns of Taba Nuweiba and Dahab.

At the same time, the terrorists were also gathering information on ships moving through the Suez Canal with the aim of destabilizing the Egyptian government.

Independent intelligence analyst Philippe Vasset told Ha'aretz that both the CIA and Mossad provided key information to Egyptian authorities leading to the arrest of the Hizballah cell.

In related news, Israel on Sunday filed an official indictment against Egyptian infiltrator Saliman Suwerka, who entered the Jewish state in March with the intent of aiding a Gazan terrorist in attacking Israeli civilians.
