Hizballah admits aiding Palestinian terror

A top Hizballah leader on Wednesday admitted that his group has been providing "every type of support" to Palestinian terror groups for some time.

In an interview with London's Financial Times, Sheikh Naim Qassem said, "We have always said that we supported the resistance in Palestine but we have not mentioned how or given details of such support."

Qassem said the recent rift between Hizballah and Egypt forced the group to come clean about its involvement in Palestinian terror.

In April Egyptian security nabbed a 49-man Hizballah cell that was planning to attack Israelis vacationing in Egypt, destabilize the Egyptian government and move weapons into Gaza.

The Palestinians have typically tried to hide their affiliation with Hizballah and other regional terrorist movements that the international community views as more intolerable than Palestinian terror groups.
