More Gaza settlers agree to leave

Thursday, February 10, 2005 |
The trend of Gaza settlers who have agreed to leave their homes voluntarily is gathering momentum. About 150 families at the settlement of Nissanit have signed a declaration agreeing to relocate to Israel. That’s nearly half of the settlement’s 310 families. "We are against the evacuation but if it goes through, we want to leave in an orderly way and stay together," said Nahum Haddad of the Nissanit town council. The Council of Jewish Settlements strongly opposes accepting compensation and has urged settlers to remain in their homes and resist the evacuation.
