Dozens of angry Jordanians on Sunday violently demonstrated outside the government's agriculture office in Amman against the import of Israeli fruit and vegetables.
A number of people were injured when police showed up to disperse the crowd, and at least two demonstrators were arrested.
Under trade agreements with Israel, Jordan imports about 3,600 tons of Israeli produce every year. The demonstrators insisted that the revenues from those sales ultimately go toward building Jewish homes on lands claimed by Arabs.
