Dodgers CEO throws out first pitch in Tel Aviv

Los Angeles Dodgers CEO Jamie McCourt will throw out the first pitch when the Israeli and US teams face off at the 18th Maccabiah Games - the all-Jewish equivalent of the Olympics - in Tel Aviv next week.

McCourt and the Dodgers have played a major role in promoting and financing the Maccabiah Games this year.

An untold sum of money was raised by the Major League Baseball team to underwrite the entire cost of the baseball tournament during the games, and McCourt was instrumental in getting full coverage of this year's Maccabiah on Jewish Life TV, which broadcasts in the US and 43 other countries.

The Dodgers also donated a boatload of tote bags, caps, t-shirts and other memorabilia to those participating in the games.
