Israel plans additional gestures to strengthen the new Palestinian leader Mahmoud Abbas. The army will pull out of the Biblical town of Jericho this week, and if it's quiet there, Israel will withdraw from four more towns in Judea and Samaria. Israel will also allow 55 terrorists expelled from Judea and Samaria to return to their homes. The group includes 13 gunmen who took refuge in the Church of the Nativity in Bethlehem during a month-long Israeli siege three years ago. The deportees must sign a statement renouncing terrorism.
