Palestinians resume official activities in Jerusalem

Wednesday, July 15, 2009 |  Israel Today Staff

The Palestinian Authority has begun to again demonstrate sovereignty in eastern Jerusalem by conducting official activities there.

Earlier this week, the PA held an official reception for the new Egyptian ambassador at a hotel on the eastern side of the Israeli capital. On Tuesday night, a number of Arab ambassadors to the PA, top Palestinian officials and other dignitaries were in attendance when the PA opened a new official business center in Jerusalem.

The Palestinians' signed agreements with Israel forbid them from conducting official activities in Jerusalem. But the same Western powers that have so harshly criticized Israel for building homes for Jews in eastern Jerusalem are ignoring the Palestinian violations.
