Right-wing Jewish militants opposed to the government’s plan to pull out of the Gaza Strip this summer are threatening Cabinet ministers. Minister Meir Sheetrit received death threats against his children, Minister Limor Livnat was harassed and heckled in public, and militants slashed the tires of Finance Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's car. "All of us who support the disengagement [from Gaza] have been exposed these past few months...to some degree of revolting behavior," Justice Minister Tzipi Livni told Army Radio. Police commanders met today to discuss the growing threat. Israeli officials are warning that the next step could be political murder. They say it's reminiscent of the atmosphere before the assassination of Prime Minister Yitzhak Rabin in 1995.
