200,000 Israelis won't have enough food for holidays

Wednesday, September 02, 2009 |  Israel Today Staff

Israeli nonprofit group Latet estimated in an interview with Ha'aretz that 200,000 Israelis will need food aid during the upcoming biblical holiday season.

Latet fears that recent reports of the economic crisis coming to an end in Israel will make potential donors complacent, and that they won't have enough to help all of the needy.

The group is urging an immediate and drastic increase in financial support from the public.
