Egyptian border guards on Tuesday shot and killed an Ethiopian man who was trying to cross the border into Israel with a group of 14 other African refugees. Another woman in the group was also shot and wounded. The remaining group members then surrendered to the Egyptians.
Dozens of African refugees have been gunned down in cold blood by Egyptian forces along the border over the past few years. Rights groups have complained, but little action has been taken to prevent Egypt from carrying out the brutal murders.
The incidents have also failed to attract much media attention around the world, resulting in little response from world leaders.
