Report: Video link set up between Netanyahu and Obama

Friday, September 04, 2009 |  Israel Today Staff

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has agreed to set up an encrypted video link between his office and that of US President Barack Obama so that the two leaders can hold regular secure video conferences regarding peace efforts in the region.

The article that broke the story in Israel's Ma'ariv daily newspaper suggested that the video link was set up on the recommendation of, or rather in response to demands from the American administration.

Observers feared that the new link will result in much heavier and far more consistent diplomatic pressure on Netanyahu to meet Arab conditions for peace.
