A study conducted by Israel's Health Ministry recently showed that the Jewish state is among the world leaders in five-year cancer survival rates.

On average, an Israeli diagnosed with cancer has over a 60 percent chance of still being alive five years later. After eight years, 58 percent of Israeli cancer patients are still alive.

Israeli treatment of breast cancer was highlighted. The five-year survival rate for Israeli Jewish women with breast cancer was 87 percent, and for Israeli Arab women 78 percent. By comparison, the five-year survival rate for breast cancer in the US is 89 percent, and in Britain is 82 percent.
