Gaza rocket hits Israel, terror attack foiled in Jerusalem

Sunday, November 15, 2009 |  Israel Today Staff

Palestinian terrorists operating out of the Gaza Strip fired a rocket into southern Israel on Friday afternoon, causing no injuries or damage.

The attack came just hours after Israeli soldiers shot and killed a Palestinian man they identified planting a bomb along the Gaza security fence.

Also on Friday, an 18-year-old Arab Muslim attending weekly prayers atop Jerusalem's Temple Mount unsheathed a large knife, shouted "Allahu Akbar" (Allah is great), and charged toward Israeli police officers stationed there.

One of the officers managed to fight off and disarm the attacker.
