Despite Palestinian claims that there is an ongoing humanitarian crisis in the Gaza Strip, which are being swallowed whole by the international media, Israeli military officials on Monday revealed that aid to the residents of the Hamas-ruled territory is up 900 percent over the past 11 months.
Col. Moshe Levi, head of the army's Gaza Coordination and Liaison Administration, told reporters that already this year nearly 18,000 trucks carrying humanitarian aid have entered Gaza via Israeli border crossings.
Israel had also facilitated the construction of a covered corridor connecting the outskirts of Gaza City to the Erez Crossing into southern Israel. During the year, some 4,000 Palestinians from Gaza had used that crossing to enter Israel for medical treatment.
