Messages of thanks are rolling in in response to a campaign by Israel Today and its readers to distribute as many holiday gift bags to Israeli soldiers as possible.
Scott Johnson, who runs a program for young soldiers who immigrated to Israel without their families, said the 16 "lone soldiers" who received Israel Today gift bags during a Thanksgiving event he put on were touched by the gesture.
The bags contain two pairs of heavy-duty outdoor socks, movie tickets, a voucher for coffee and criossant and chocolate bars. But many of the soldiers said what they appreciated most was the included personalized letter, which lists the name of the Israel Today reader whose donation made that gift bag possible.
So far, Israel Today has been able to send out hundreds of gift bags to young Israeli soldiers. If you would like to help add to that number, CLICK HERE!
