Australian youth want to 'kill all Jews'

In a shocking reminder that the most virulent forms of anti-Semitism can sprout in even the most open and tolerant of countries, a popular youth website in Australia was found to be plastered with comments and images inciting hatred of Israel and the Jews.

Israel's Ynet news portal reported that the website Bored of Studies, which receives millions of visitors every month, had of late become a platform for some of the nation's youth to vent their deep-seated loathing for Jews and the Jewish state.

Among the hostile postings was a comment that read: "Kill all da f—-ing Jews ... f—-ing hate every single one of them ... I hope Iran nukes them big time." Another picture of an Israeli flag going up in flames carried the caption "let's make them a holocaust."

Demonstrating that the animosity was not only toward Israel, yet another hostile post detailed the location of all synagogues in Sydney and instructed visitors on how to make Molotov cocktails, or homemade firebombs.

The website's popularity stems from the fact that teachers at many schools in Australia encourage their students to use it as a study aid. Fearful of losing that status, and no doubt disturbed by the inciting material, the site's operators removed the offensive posts and banned the users that had posted them.

But many of the site's other users came to the defense of those who had so venomously attacked the Jews, insisting that the anti-Semitic posts had been made in jest, and that poking fun at others was common to Australian culture.

Leaders of Jewish organizations in Australia said that while the country may have a laid back attitude, calling for the genocide of an entire race is not playful joking.
