Rockets, mortars pound southern Israel

Sunday, January 03, 2010 |  Israel Today Staff

Southern Israel suffered three straight days of rocket and mortar attacks from Gaza late last week, following more than two weeks of relative calm.

The attacks began on Wednesday, when a mortar shells fired by Palestinian terrorists operating out of Gaza landed near several communities in southern Israel.

On Thursday, a GRAD missile landed near another community, and on Friday another two mortar shells were fired, one of them landing inside Palestinian-controlled territory.

There were no injuries or damage in any of the attacks.
