Palestinian parliament rejects new cabinet

Palestinian Prime Minister Ahmed Qureia has been forced to reshuffle his cabinet after parliament rejected his original lineup. Lawmakers were furious that the cabinet was stacked with the so-called old guard--cronies of the late Yasser Arafat who are seen as corrupt. Since the death of Arafat, the Palestinian parliament has been pushing for reform; and Qureia, who was faced with a possible no-confidence vote, gave in. The parliament will vote on the new cabinet tomorrow.
