Foreign armies flock to receive Israeli training

Israeli army spokesmen told Israel National News this week that the IDF's Foreign Training Branch is already overbooked for the coming year, with an increasing number of foreign armies eager to receive Israeli training in urban warfare.

Many foreign armies view Israel as an expert in both open and guerilla warfare, due to the constant conventional and terrorist threats against the Jewish state.

With an increasing number of foreign armies being forced to battle terrorists in urban settings, the IDF's urban warfare facility in the western Negev region is seen as the best place to receive advanced training.

The foreign armies usually come in small groups and train for several weeks side-by-side with Israeli soldiers, before returning home and conveying their training to others.

Israeli military and political officials said the training is a tremendous opportunity to forge bonds with foreign military forces that would otherwise only know of Israel and its army through the biased international media.

Most of the foreign soldiers go away feeling a strong connection to their Israeli counterparts and having a much better understanding of the threats facing Israel and the methods that must be used to face those threats.
