Israeli jets scramble to intercept foreigh fighters

Israel's Air Force on Tuesday evening scrambled a squadron of fighters to intercept at least two foreign jets approaching Israel's air space, reported Israel National News.

Details regarding the nationality of the foreign fighters was not revealed, though the incident took place not far from the northern coastal city of Haifa, making it most likely that the perceived intruders were Turkish.

After the Israeli jets were in the air, it became apparent that there was no hostile intent and that the foreign jets were taking part in a nearby exercise.

Israeli-Turkish relations have become extremely strained of late.
